Devotional: Access to all areas

“When Arioch, the commander of the King’s guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact.”
Daniel 2:14
Message:
Have you ever been attacked for what you stand for, your parenting style, a decision you’ve made with the best intentions, or for something you never even did?
Why do we do that to each other?!?!
We’re funny beings as humans. We can so reflect the image of God and the goodness and kindness which comes from Him and when we do, it is so precious, healing and satisfying. Yet, we can also speak filth, negativity and with such pointedness to bring others down and break someone else.
It’s so easy done.
Children or those with extra needs of any description will often do this because of immaturity, their own hurts or past trauma.
We acknowledge the very wise saying that hurting people hurt other people.
Even if we have no extra needs, it’s very easy to prevent the Holy Spirit having ‘access to all areas’.
We all need to be healed and learn how to live fully in our new inner man.
Daniel was utterly remarkable in his response to the death threat over him!
Responding with wisdom, grace and tact is a constant ongoing skill to learn!
Point to ponder:
How are you treated unfairly? What words are said to you? Perhaps take a moment to find a response full of wisdom and tact.
Prayer:
“Dear Father God, the creator and provider of wisdom and tact, thank you for your abundant supply of goodness, grace and mercy. When I am attacked, when those words come at me, help me to see that individual through your eyes. Help me to see someone created in your image but with hurts of their own. Help me to see that they don’t yet know any better. Help me to respond in a way that will bring healing into the situation. Holy Spirit I give you access to all areas in me. Amen!”
