Christian Devotional - Rest

Bible verse:
“The Lord’s my Shepherd, I shall not want. He leads beside still waters.” Psalm 23:1
Message:
It may seem counterintuitive, but one of the best ways you can help anyone else is to carve out time yourself for rest.
This may be incredibly difficult,
and you may only get short chunks of time to rest.
However, whatever time you have is valuable.
Why?
It is when you yourself are rested and refreshed that you will have the creativity, insight, and strength to serve others and lead them to a place of greater sensory health.
Rest looks different for all of us.
For some, it may mean watching a comedy show on TV,
for others taking a brisk walk,
a hot bath,
meditating on a psalm,
or a coffee and chat with friends.
Even if you only have 5 minutes, simply taking a short time out is so important.
Whatever it is that you personally find restful is what matters.
Try to make a habit of resting at regular intervals whenever is possible for you.
Point to ponder:
What does rest look like for you?
Prayer pointer:
“Thank you, Heavenly Father, that following you and serving you means that you lead us beside still waters so that we can rest. You understand the importance of it. Help me to see where I can include that in my daily routine and rhythm of life. Help me to reset and recalibrate regularly with you so that I can be there better for others. Thank you Lord, Amen.”
