Devotional - The Domino Effect

christian devotional

“Therefore take up the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand” - Eph 6:13

Message:

When life gets hard we need to be very careful about what we think, how we think and what we allow into our minds.

It’s not the circumstances that are the problem directly but the consequences of the circumstances. If we’re not careful we can allow the consequences to have a knock on effect to make a bad situation even worse - a bit like dominoes.

If Satan can use circumstances to damage a relationship or bring you into unbelief or doubt or fear - then he is winning.

I can imagine him smirking at circumstances he can control but it’s the pulling of you away from God - the consequences - that he’s really interested in.

Let’s not let him get a foothold.

Let’s stand firm.

Let’s allow worship and praise to flow from our lips.

Let’s declare and decree God’s word over our life.

Let’s allow the love of God to penetrate our hearts and minds so that we are so secure in Him that a joy runs deep with us.

Let us be the ones that break a potential destructive chain of events.

Point to ponder:

Where can you pull out a domino that has been lined up in your life to prevent a negative knock on effect onto others?

Prayer

“Dear Father God, thank you that in the midst of daily life, you can give me strength to do amazing things. You can strengthen my inner man with incredible resilience. You allow experiences in my life to form and fashion me in a way that only you can! Help me to stand. When I am weak, help me to stand so that I don’t cause a domino effect of pain or hurt onto others. Help me be the one that stands firm and breaks the chain of destruction. In Jesus name, Amen.”
