Devotional - Need a renewal?

“ Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”

Romans 12:2

Message:

If we’re honest – and not careful -

for most of us, our thinking is marred, worldly, selfish, and needs to be changed.

Why do I believe this to be true?

Simply because God says so.

We’re called to a renewing of our minds.

That means change.

All the things we expected of

parenting, 

our lifestyle, 

our choices, 

our opinions, 

our ideas, 

our beliefs about how our life was going to be -  

all need traded in and upgraded for – 

a new set of lifestyle choices,

opinions,

ideas, 

and beliefs about life from His perspective and what He is doing in and through us.

Point to ponder: 

What aspects of my thoughts, opinions, choices and lifestyle that we make as a family, have I not yet allowed God to renew? 

Prayer pointer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I’m acutely aware of how the reality of living the life I have affects my thoughts, and how they clash with your Word sometimes. Please forgive me for the times that I allow fear and stress to rise, or live with an attitude that is far from Christian! Help me to not conform to this world and its priorities and ways of thinking. Give me your thoughts, your ways I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen!
